Chosen by the Gouvernment as a cluster of excellence devoted to sustainable cities, Marne-la-Vallée takes part of the Greater Paris's project which aims at making the capital region into a model of sustainable metropolis with efficient transports, a competitive economy and a better quality of life.
Today, Marne-la-Vallée represents:
- An innovative city boasting a prestigious research and further education centre, 1,300 teachers and researchers, a cluster devoted to sustainable cities and construction, the Advancity competitiveness cluster, a cluster of excellence focused on leisure, sports and major events, as well as a number of business incubators.
- An attractive city with a pool of over 130,000 jobs, clearly identified business development activity channels, a comprehensive housing offer within a preserved natural environment, as well as a diversified cultural heritage and leisure activities.
- A sustainable city with eco-neighbourhoods under development, enhanced parks and farmland, renewable energy projects under study, segregated-lane transport and soft transport routes integrated into the city.
